Sheridan-Kalorama Neighborhood Council (SKNC)
For more than fifty years, this group has sought to maintain a balance between the presence (and sometimes encroachment) of foreign chanceries (offices) and this residential neighborhood. SKNC dues have financed legal challenges to nonresidential uses of buildings and other actions on a broad range of community concerns. This effort continues as members of the Council work with the City’s Office of Planning and Department of State officials to further define the diplomatic overlay that governs the use of buildings for diplomatic use.
